Pilocereus azureus requires plenty of full sun. Eight hours of direct sunlight a day is ideal but at a minimum these plants should be provided with at least five hours.
During the grow season, it should be watered thoroughly, when the soil is dry. During cold, winter months, it should be left to dry between waterings and watered sparingly. In winter, check your local weather before watering indoor arid plants. It is best to water if there is a stretch of sunshine in the forecast.
These hardy plants require very little maintenance. Container grown cacti prefer to be rootbound, so repotting should be necessary only once every 2-5 years, depending the growth environment. Repot into a planter 2” larger in diameter to give the plant plenty of room to continue growing. Fertilize: These cacti do not require much fertilization. To give them a boost during the growing season fertilize once monthly with a fertilizer formulated specifically for cacti and succulents.
Approx. 4.75' (57") tall and planted in a 12" grow pot.
