Euphorbia horrida


Euphorbia horrida is a beautiful clumping euphorbia best known for its grey/blue coloration and large thorns. E. horrida grow offsets at the base of the plant which are easily propagated.


Euphorbia horrids is native to South Africa.


Euphorbia horrida do best in full sun, at least 5 to 8 hours a day. Avoid intense afternoon sun. Grow outdoors in light shade in the afternoon or indoors in a sunny window with southern exposure and direct sun.


Native to arid and sub-tropical climates, Euphorbia horrida are drought tolerant plants. Their soil should be allowed to dry out entirely before watering thoroughly.

Tula's Tip

Keep your growth climate dry. Euphorbia horrida do not like humidity and can form a layer of white powder if the climate is too humid. Fertilize: Apply a water-soluble, balanced fertilizer monthly, diluted at half strength once per month during the grow season.
