Ferocactus glaucescens inermis

Ferocactus glaucescens inermis is a nursery-cultivated spineless version of Ferocactus glaucescens, or blue barrel cactus. We love how the bluish skin of this cactus can provide a striking contrast in collections or arrangements.

Please note: Every plant will vary in size, color and shape from the one pictured. Planter is not included. Plant ships bare root.

Ferocactus glaucescens is native to eastern central Mexico.

Ferocactus glaucescens inermis requires at least 4-6 hours of direct sun. If kept outdoors, provide some shade during the hottest hours of the day.

Water the Ferocactus sparingly in winter months. During the grow season, water soil thoroughly, allowing it to dry completely in between waterings.

Tula's Tip

A well-established Ferocactus may produce offsets at the base of the plant. Uproot and remove the pup from the mother plant, and you have another Ferocactus!

Approx. 3-4” tall x 3-4” wide at the widest point of the plant. Every plant will vary in size, color and shape.
