This is the Lophophora williamsii, commonly known as Peyote. A spineless cactus species found primarily in the Sierra Madre Occidental, of the Chihuahuan Desert. Known for its psychoactive properties when ingested, peyote is used worldwide, holding a long history of ritualistic and medicinal use by indigenous North Americans.
