This rooftop at the Huron starts with a view most people would leave untouched—wide open sky, the East River, and the Manhattan skyline stretching across the horizon. Instead of competing with it, we framed it.

Long, matte-black planters run the perimeter, creating a soft edge between the architecture and the landscape beyond. The planting leans loose and textural—ornamental grasses catching the light, echinacea and yarrow bringing seasonal color, and layers of perennials that shift and move with the wind. It’s wild, but intentional.

A custom wood screen adds warmth and privacy without closing the space in. On the opposite end, a sculptural pine anchors the terrace, giving it weight and a sense of permanence against the constant motion of the city.

The goal was simple: soften the edge of a high-rise and make it livable. A place where the skyline becomes part of the garden, not the backdrop. Calm, elevated, and just a little untamed.
