Tula House Featured on NPR’s All Of It
Tula House is in the spotlight! Our Greenpoint plant shop was recently featured on New York Public Radio’s All Of It, the live, daily conversation hosted by Alison Stewart, highlighting the people, places, and ideas that are shaping New York’s cultural landscape.
As part of the show’s deep-dive Go Local series, Stewart welcomed Caroline Weaver, aka the “Locavore Queen,” and invited her to share her favorite specialty businesses in Brooklyn. Among her standout selections? Our very own shop, where Plants Are Alive: Tula House!
During the segment, Weaver singled out Tula House as a modern plant shop that truly feels welcoming to everyone.
“What I like about it is that it's great for people who know a lot about plants,” Weaver shared. “You can find really special types there, but it's also for people who know nothing. If you are buying a gift for somebody who loves the outdoors, who loves plants, you can be sure that you can go there and find something that's not going to annoy them or drive them crazy.”
Weaver went on to highlight more great finds at Tula House, mentioning our books, home goods, and tools for new plant lovers. We also got a nice shoutout for our colorful and poppy branding, which we think perfectly reflects our belief that living with plants should feel fun, joyful, and accessible.
Showing that she really gets what Tula House is all about, Weaver wrapped up the segment by describing our shop as being for people “Who want to be into plants, or people who know nothing about plants. It’s really a plant store for everybody, which is a rare thing, I think.”
