    Aloe brevifolia

    Aloe brevifolia is a succulent originating from South Africa. It grows low to the ground and spreads, making it a choice plant for ground cover. Short clusters of green heads are tipped with red spines. Though it is found quite commonly in cultivation, Aloe brevifolia is critically endangered in its natural habitat due to encroaching farmland.

  2. Adromischus Marianiae Alveolatus at Tula Plants & Design.

    Adromischus marianiae alveolatus

    This plant is native to South Africa, where it grows in granite rock face crevices. Leaves are actually clusters of textured green sub-spherical protrusions with a notably rough surface. Low-lying, this Adromischus will remain fairly short in height, reaching only up to about 6 inches tall. Notoriously difficult to cultivate, this plant is not for the faint of heart! Nevertheless, it makes for a unique, otherworldly specimen in an arid plant collection.

    Asplenium nidus are epiphytic ferns native to tropical southeastern Asia, eastern Australia, Hawaii, Polynesia, Christmas Island, India, and eastern Africa. Known for its thick, spear-like leaves that unfurl from a central “nest,” this plant in the wild can easily grow to have a six foot wingspan.

    Epiphyllum anguliger is a night blooming epiphytic cactus native to evergreen forests in Mexico, where it grows clinging to the limbs and trunks of trees. An oddity in the cactus family, it is native to rainforest conditions, meaning it loves high humidity and more frequent watering.
