Le Labo Headquarters
When Le Labo decided to establish their new headquarters in the vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, they sought a partnership that would enable them to mirror their distinctive brand aesthetics, not only within their office walls but also in the open spaces that surround them. Our collaboration was deeply rooted in a shared appreciation for design that speaks to the senses and evokes a connection with nature.
Working closely with the CEO of Le Labo, we brought the essence of their brand into the very fabric of their new headquarters. Our endeavor was not just about selecting plants to adorn the office spaces and the expansive outdoor rooftop garden; it was about creating a cohesive narrative that aligned with Le Labo's philosophy. Every choice, from the foliage varieties to the layout of the gardens, was made with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to embodying the brand's ethos.
Inspired by the philosophy of Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf, we infused the indoor and outdoor spaces with naturalistic, dynamic plantings that emphasize spontaneous and evolving beauty throughout the year. We chose naval orange trees for their rich green foliage from spring through fall, which suddenly bursts into vivid color when they begin fruiting in the winter months. Other trees featured include Olea europaea (green olive tree), whose silver foliage adds perennial sophistication and simple beauty.
Some of our favorite plant selections include the Philodendron mayoi, with its unique, palm-like fronds that bring a sculptural presence to the space. Equally compelling is Asparagus plumosus, with its airy, fern-like foliage that adds a tactile and visual harmony to its surroundings. We’re particularly fond of the dimensionality these and other architectural plants bring to the striking outdoor planters.
Amidst the bustling urban landscape of Brooklyn, we designed an outdoor sanctuary that offers a respite from the outside world, a place where employees and visitors alike can immerse themselves in tranquility and inspiration. The contrast of nature with the surrounding cityscape creates an inviting counterbalance. Through this partnership, we not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of their physical space but also created an environment that truly reflects the heart and soul of Le Labo.
