Calathea Lancifolia
Also known as the Rattlesnake Plant, Calathea lancifolia is a lush tropical plant loved for its long, wavy leaves, dark green markings, and rich purple undersides. Native to the rainforests of Brazil, it brings a soft, animated quality to the home with foliage that shifts throughout the day.
As part of the prayer plant family, its leaves naturally move with the light, folding upward at night and opening again in the morning. Calathea lancifolia grows best in medium to bright, indirect light, with a few hours of gentle morning sun if available. Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy, watering thoroughly when the top 25–50% of the soil has dried or feels like a wrung-out sponge.
