Monstera deliciosa
Native to the humid understories of southern Mexico and Central America, Monstera deliciosa is a climber, a crawler, and a slow-motion adventurer. In the wild, it stretches its aerial roots across jungle floors and up tree trunks, always seeking light. Those iconic, split leaves? Nature’s way of letting sunlight filter through dense canopies—efficient and wildly sculptural.
Bright, indirect light is best—think filtered sunlight through a lace curtain or just shy of a sunny window. Water when the top few inches of soil are dry; overwatering is a Monstera’s enemy. If the air feels dry, give it a mist or place it near a humidifier—remember, this plant's heart belongs to the tropics.
Encourage climbing by giving it a moss pole or support—it’ll thank you with bigger leaves and dramatic fenestrations
